Person Struck by Train at LIRR Stop

Unknown victim jumped in front of train in Forest Hills Monday evening.

Police confirmed that an as-yet unidentified person jumped in front of a train at the Forest Hills Long Island Railroad station Monday evening.

The LIRR twitter feed said westbound trains out of Penn Station would be operating with delays. Normal service was scheduled to resume at 8:08 p.m.

The Forest Hills LIRR stop was a magnet for incidents in 2012, with one man committing suicide with a gun at the station and another jumping onto the tracks.
