Pedestrian Killed Crossing 108th Street

Victim taken to Forest Hills hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A woman was struck by a car and killed crossing 108th Street in Forest Hills Thursday morning, police said.

The victim, 68, who has not yet been identified by police, was crossing 108th Street at 62nd Drive just south of the Long Island Expressway at around 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

When police and emergency responders arrived at the scene, the woman was unconscious and could not be revived. She was taken by ambulance to Forest Hills Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The car that struck her, a gray Ford Crown Victoria, remained at the scene while police and ambulances were called. No criminality is suspected.
