Man Struck By Train At Queens Boulevard Subway Station

FDNY, NYPD officials confirm suicide of unidentified man Monday afternoon.

The Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens subway stop was closed Monday afternoon for more than an hour while police and emergency response crews responded to reports that a man was struck and killed by an E train at 3 p.m.

Almost half a dozen police and emergency services vehicles were at the intersection of Queens Boulevard and Union Turnpike and commuters trying to board the train were told that no trains were stopping. MTA police, plainclothes officers and more guided commuters to other stations while keeping all entrances to the station blocked.

While crews worked, residents walked past the station to the 75th Avenue stop to the northwest.
