Local Crime At A Glance: 112 Precinct

The 112 Precinct's most recent COMPSTAT report has been posted online. Here's a breakdown of some of the salient points in what has been a two-week period full of real concern for residents of Forest Hills and Rego Park.

  • For the week ending on May 27, crime overall is down roughly 17 percent compared to last year, despite a small increase in the number of felony assaults and burglaries.
  • Over the last month, however, the precinct has seen a sharp increase in felony assaults (eight this year compared to just three last year) and grand larcenies.
  • The total number of grand larcenies in the month of May was 43, nearly double what it was during the same period last year (22).
