Katz to Speak at 112th Precinct Community Council's January Meeting

The new Queens borough president will drop by the council's monthly get together.

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, who just took office last week, will drop by the 112th Precinct Community Council's January meeting to meet with local residents.

Katz, who has succeeded Helen Marshall as the borough's leader, will discuss local issues of interest during the meeting, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 15.

112th Precinct Captain Thomas Conforti will talk about recent crime statistics and take questions from attendees during the meeting, which will include free refreshments.

The gathering will take place at the precinct, which is located at 68-40 Austin Street. The precinct covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.

The 112th Community Council will also hold a blood drive on Jan. 8 from noon to 6 p.m. at the precinct.
