Police could not immediately say if a dead body found Monday morning in Stony Point is East Garden City shooter Sang Ho Kim, a Fresh Meadows resident, who has been on the run ever since he allegedly opened fire inside a local office building Aug. 25, according to a Newsday report.

Kim worked as a vendor for Savenergy, a local lighting fixture company located at 645 South Street, in the industrial area near Stewart Avenue. Police say Kim, angry over a business deal gone bad, allegedly killed one employee and seriously injured the company's CEO before fleeing the scene.

Zachariah Yong Jae Shin, 25, of Whitestone, Queens succumbed to his injuries. The second victim, John Hyng Choi, underwent surgery at Nassau University Medical Center.

Police had reason to believe Kim was hiding out in Putnam County after his white Honda Pilot was discovered in the Philipstown, along Route 9D just north of the Village of Cold Spring, near Sandy Beach State Park.

A passerby walking in the area early Monday notified police after seeing the body, which had apparently washed ashore on Iona Island, just south of the Bear Mountain Bridge in Rockland County.
