Group Seeks Funds For Reward In Hit-And-Run Death Of Forest Hills Man

A group of bicyclists in Pennsylvania are raising money for a reward leading to the arrest of a pickup truck driver who fatally struck a Forest Hills resident participating in a bike trip Saturday, PhillyBurbs.com reports.

John Chapman, 66, of Forest Hills, was hit by the pickup while participating in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender cycling club ride from Newark to Quakertown, Pa., according the report. Police said the driver never stopped and Chapman later died at the hospital.

According to an obituary posted on the club’s website, Chapman lived in Forest Hills for the last seven years.

Terry Clemons, a Doylestown, Pa. attorney, is helping collect money for the reward with around $1,000 collected so far, the report said.  The group hopes to raise $5,000.
