So how was this crime-fighting miracle accomplished? And no, Look here:

  • Grand larcenies, the most frequent crime in the precinct by far, was recorded just once during the week. Compare that number to the 14 committed in the previous year.
  • For the 28 day period leading up to Aug. 5, grand larceny has dropped by more than 27 percent. That adjustment owes much to the grand larceny total cited above.
  • Two cars were reported stolen, one less than the same period last year.
  • There was one more burglary committed than in 2011, the total jumped from three to four.
  • Every other major category had either one crime committed or none.
  • There were 16 total petit larceny incidents in the precinct, down from 18 last year.
