FHVAC President Takes On Larger Leadership Role

Alan Wolfe to lead WQVAA, foster coordination among volunteer corps. in the borough.

The president of the Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps., Alan Wolfe, has been elected president of the West Queens Volunteer Ambulance Association.

Wolfe, who has spent years giving of his time with the Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps., was elected to the position late last month.

The WQVAA is a loose confederation of nearly a dozen ambulance corps. from around the borough, working to provide services in areas that the FDNY and NYPD cannot.

Hundreds of residents of the city receive life-saving treatment from the organizations each year.

Wolfe said he plans to improve communication between the member corps., in the hopes of making each unit part of an even more successful whole.

“My goal as president is to enhance the coordination of resources amongst the member squads, specifically, with a communications project that will allow everyone to operate on a joint system,” Wolfe said.

In addition, Wolfe said he was planning on creating leadership training and recruitment seminars for member corps.
