Crime at a Glance: Number of Incidents Up 12 Percent This Week

Burglaries were on the rise and grand larceny was up slightly during the past week.

After several weeks in a row of declining numbers of incidents, crime rose 12 percent during the past week in the 112th Precinct, according to police statistics.

There were no murders or rapes in the precinct during the past week. And there was only one robbery and one incident of grand larceny auto, which were the same amount of incidents in both crime categories during the same week in 2012.

But the precinct reported four burglaries within the past week, which is up from one incident during the same week in October 2012.

And grand larceny was up slightly, from 10 incidents during the same week last year to 11 incidents this past week.

There was one felony assault during the past week, whereas two incidents were reported during the same week in October 2012.

Overall crime for the year is down seven percent. The 112th Precinct covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.
