Crime at a Glance: Number of Incidents Dropped 13 Percent Last Week

Robbery was the only crime category to see an increase during the past week.

Crime dropped 13 percent this past week with dips in two of the seven major crime categories and an increase in only one of them.

There were no murders or rapes during the past week, while there was only one incident of felony assault, which was the same amount of incidents during the same week in 2012.

Additionally, there was only one grand larceny auto incident, which was the same number of incidents during the same week last year.

The number of burglaries was down from two incidents during this week in 2012 to one incident this past week.

And the number of grand larceny incidents dropped from 11 incidents during the same week in 2012 to eight incidents this past week.

Robbery was the only crime category to see an increase. There were no incidents reported last year at this time, but two occurred within the past week.

Overall crime is down six percent for the year.

The 112th Precinct covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.
