Crime at a Glance: Number of Incidents Down Five Percent This Week

The number of burglaries, robberies and rapes were down this week.

Crime dropped five percent in the 112th Precinct during the second week of December with dips in three of the seven major crime categories, according to police statistics.

There were no murders or rapes during the week between Dec. 9 and Dec. 15. The precinct reported one rape during the same week last year.

Robbery dropped from three incidents during the same week in December 2012 to two incidents this past week.

And the number of burglaries fell slightly from two incidents during the same week in December last year to one incident last week.

There were 12 grand larceny incidents and two grand larceny auto incidents this past week. The same amount of incidents was reported in both categories during this week in December 2012.

Felony assault was the only crime category that was up this week, from no incidents during the same week in December 2012 to two incidents last week.

Overall crime for the year is down eight percent.

The 112th Precinct covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.
