Crime at a Glance: Number of Incidents Down 33 Percent This Week

The precinct experienced drops in felony assaults and grand larceny incidents.

Crime fell 33 percent this past week in the 112th Precinct with decreases in the number of incidents in two of the seven major crime categories.

There were no murders, rapes or robberies during the past week in the precinct, which covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.

The number of felony assaults were down from five incidents during this same week in 2012 to one this past week.

And grand larceny dropped from 13 incidents during this week in September 2012 to nine incidents during the past week.

Grand larceny was up just slightly. There were no incidents reported during this week last year, but one occurred this past week.

Three burglaries were reported, which was the same number of incidents at this time last year.

Overall crime for the past 28 days was down 18 percent with drops in robberies, felony assaults, grand larceny and grand larceny auto.

Burglary was the only crime on the rise during the past month.

For the year, overall crime is down six percent.
