Crime at a Glance: Number of Incidents Down 31 Percent This Week

Precinct experiences drops in three of the seven major crime categories during the past week.

Crime dropped a whopping 31 percent in the 112th Precinct during the past week with only one of the seven major crime categories seeing a slight increase.

There were two robberies during the past week, down from four incidents during the same period of time last year.

There was one felony assault last week, while four incidents occurred during the same week in 2012.

And there were 10 burglaries during the past week, down from 13 incidents during the same period of time last year.

But the number of grand larceny incidents was up slightly from eight incidents during this week in 2012 to nine during the past week.

There was one robbery in the precinct last week, but no murders or rapes.

The police statistics cover the week from Aug. 12 to 18.

Overall, crime for the year is down four percent.
