Crime at a Glance: Number of Incidents Down 11 Percent This Week

Burglary was the only crime that saw an increase during the past week in the 112th Precinct.

Crime dropped 11 percent this past week in the 112th Precinct, continuing a pattern of declining incidents from the past several weeks.

There were no murders, rapes, felony assaults or grand larceny auto incidents in the precinct during the past week.

During the same week in 2012, the precinct reported one assault and one grand larceny auto incident.

There were two robberies reported within the past week, which was the same number that occurred during the same week last year.

And the number of grand larceny incidents fell from 11 incidents during the same week in October 2012 to seven incidents in the past week.

However, burglary was on the rise in the precinct this week, according to police statistics.

Only one incident was reported at this time last year, but six burglaries were reported this past week.

Overall crime for the year is down seven percent.

The 112th Precinct covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.
