Crime at a Glance: Number of Grand Larceny Incidents, Burglaries Down

There was only a slight increase in one of the seven major crime categories this week.

Crime dropped a whopping 55 percent this past week in the 112th Precinct, according to police statistics.

There were no murders, rapes or felony assaults in the precinct. During the same week last year, the precinct reported one assault.

The number of burglaries dropped from seven incidents during the same week in December 2012 to five incidents this past week.

Grand larceny was significantly down from 19 incidents during the same week last year to five incidents this past week.

The precinct reported one robbery, which was the same number of incidents during the same week last year.

The only crime category to experience a slight increase was grand larceny auto. During the same week last year, the precinct reported one incident, whereas two cars were stolen this past week.

The 112th Precinct covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.
