Crime at a Glance: Incidents Down 28 Percent During December's First Week

The number of incidents dropped in five of the seven major crime categories between Dec. 2 and 8.

Crime dropped 28 percent in the 112th Precinct during the first week of December with dips in five of the seven major crime categories, according to police statistics.

There were no murders in the precinct between Dec. 2 and Dec. 8, but one rape occurred. During the same week in 2012, there were no murders or rapes.

Robbery was down from three incidents during the same week in 2012 to one incident during the first week of this month.

The precinct reported one felony assault during the first week of the month, whereas two incidents were reported during the same week last year.

And burglary dropped from five incidents during the first week of December 2012 to two incidents during the same week this year.

Grand larceny was down from 13 incidents last year to 12 incidents during the first week of December this year, while grand larceny auto fell from two incidents to one incident.

Overall crime for the year is down eight percent.

The 112th Precinct covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.
