Crime at a Glance: Grand Larceny on the Rise

Otherwise, the number of incidents in the other six crime categories stayed the same or dropped this week in the 112th Precinct.

Crime rose a whopping 61 percent in the 112th Precinct this past weekend with a significant rise in one of the seven major crime categories, according to police statistics.

The number of grand larceny incidents shot up 166 percent, from six incidents during the same week in November 2012 to 16 this past week.

There were no murders, rapes, felony assaults or grand larceny auto incidents in the precinct during the past week.

Three robberies were reported, which was the exact same number of incidents during the same week in 2012.

And burglary was down from four incidents during the same week in 2012 to two incidents this past week.

Overall crime for the year is currently down 5.7 percent.
