Crime at a Glance: Burglary, Grand Larceny on the Rise

Overall crime is up 37.5 percent for the week.

Crime was on the rise for the second week in a row in the 112th Precinct with increases in three of the major crime categories.

Overall crime was up 37.5 percent for the week and currently up 21 percent for the year so far.

There were no murders or rapes during the week between Jan. 13 and Jan. 19. One felony assault occurred, whereas two were reported during the same week in January 2013.

And grand larceny auto was down from three incidents during the same period of time in 2013 to two stolen cars last week.

But burglary rose from one incident during the second week of January 2013 to six incidents this past week.

There was one robbery in the precinct during the past week, while no incidents had been reported during the same period of time in 2013.

And grand larceny was up from 10 incidents during the second week of January 2013 to 12 incidents this past week.

The 112th Precinct covers Forest Hills and Rego Park.
