Cops Shut Down Two Nearby 'Hot-Sheet Motels'

Prostitution bust nets five arrests.

Two local hot-sheet motels have been shut down following prostitution stings last week, the Queens District Attorney said.

Several arrests were made at the Kew Motor Inn, just on the other side of the Van Wyck Expressway from Forest Hills, and the Par Central Motor Inn.

Five men were arrested in a prostitution sting, including desk clerks at both motels.

“These two motels have been deemed public nuisances that have generated numerous prostitution-related arrests – including those involving underage girls – during the past year and have been the subject of numerous complaints from local residents,” said District Attorney Richard Brown. “The actions that we have taken this week send a clear message – businesses that allow prostitution or other illegal activity to occur on their premises are at risk of being shut down.”

According to the District Attorney, police posing as prostitutes and their patrons visited both motels and observed illegal activity, including money exchanges on the part of the clerks.
