The 112th Precinct Community Council will hold its first-ever harvest fair on the weekend before Halloween to provide safety tips for parents and children.
Heidi Chain, president of the council, said she expected the event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 26, would draw a large crowd.
“We’ve done safety fairs before, but this is the first time we decided to do one right before Halloween,” she said.
The fair will be held at the playground of P.S. 144, located at 93-02 69th Ave. in Forest Hills.
It will include safety tips from the city’s Police Department, a child ID program, Operation ID cell phone registration, bicycle registration, a rock climbing wall, a bouncy house, a puppet show that begins at 1 p.m., free giveaways and a costume contest.
“If the kids come in costumes, we’ll have a couple of prizes,” Chain said. “There will be a free climbing wall and lots of safety information.”
