Event unites police and residents across the country.

Next week, police in Forest Hills and Rego Park will join precincts across the country in the National Night Out Against Crime. It will take place Tuesday, Aug. 7, starting at 6 p.m.

According to Precinct Council President Heidi Chain, the event will rival last year's 'Night Out' extravaganza, with a DJ and performances from local groups between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Chain also added that there will be raffle prizes for residents and awards presentations.
