From the comments section, Forest Hills Patch reader Addie Tupp wrote this comment in the article 'Local Fracking Still a No-Go':
"Steve Katz was for fracking on the campaign trail last year in his district. He was so for it that he said he would be willing to drink treated fracking wastewater. Westchester has banned fracking waste from being used to treat roadways in the winter. The process of fracking is not appropriate for a densely populated area that depends on the watershed for vital drinking water.
Katz said the process was safe and so was the water that remained after the process. He did not consider the release of radioactive materials into the water after the shale is fracked, which can't be treated away."
