Forest Hills Free Cancer Screenings Draw Women From Across Borough

State Sen. Joe Addabbo sponsors events throughout district.

State Sen. Joe Addabbo is billing his no- or low-cost mammography event in Forest Hills a success after more than 20 local residents came out to participate.

“We know that early detection of breast cancer can save lives. Once again, I worked with Multi-Diagnostic Services to offer no cost or low-cost vital health care services for uninsured women ages 40 and over, or insured women ages 35 and over, who have had no mammograms in the last 12 months,” Addabbo said.

The cancer screenings, which are funded by the Cancer Screening Program of New York, are free for uninsured women whose annual income is 250 percent of the federal poverty line.
