Alternate Side Parking Suspended for May 15 and 16

Drivers will not need to move their cars as the city observes Shavuot.

Alternate side parking has been suspended for May 15 and 16 in observance of Shavuot, according to the city's Department of Transportation.

Meters and all other parking regulations will still be in effect.

Shavuot commemorates the anniversary of the day God gave the Torah to the entire nation of Israel at Mount Sinai.

Additionally, the Central Queens Y, located at 67-09 108th St. in Forest Hills, will shut its doors at 6 p.m. on May 14 for the holiday and will remain closed on May 15 and 16. It will reopen on May 17 at 6:15 a.m.
