St. Luke's Forest Hills

St. Luke's Forest Hills is a secret  gem hidden away in the Forest Hills Gardens.  We are a community of faith in the Christian tradition. As such, we are part of the worldwide Anglican Church, known in America as the Episcopal Church. Our doors open wide to all people seeking a deeper understanding of God — an awareness that moves people to a fuller embrace of fellow humanity and a commitment to make a loving difference during the time we are given in this world. 

We are committed to connecting with the needs of the Forest Hills community and believe in community outreach both close to home and far.  Most recently, we are working to achieve a connection in outreach through Notre Dame de l'Annonciation, an elementary school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Our initial goal is $2,500, the annual salary for one of its teachers. 

 Great need still exists in Haiti following the devastating earthquake of January 2010. Saint Luke's Outreach has made a connection with this school as we are dedicated to helping rebuild children's lives in Haiti. Project Haiti will continue throughout 2011. Furthermore, Saint Luke's is committed to an ongoing relationship with our new friends and students at Notre Dame de l'Annonciation.

This is just one project St. Luke's has been working with recently.  We hope to share many more with you in the weeks to come. Our scope of interaction with our small Queens community, and the world at large range from community theater productions through the Gingerbread Players, acting as a center for music in the community, local service through the Forest Hills Community House, spiritual education, and promoting education and service at home and abroad.
