What's Open and Closed on Labor Day

Check out this important information on what will remain open on the holiday.

Next Monday - Sept. 2 - is Labor Day, so Patch has compiled a list of places in your community that are closed for the holiday.

Alternate side parking and parking meters are both suspended for the day.

Banks, post offices and the offices of elected officials will be closed for the day.

Most of the city's museums - and a majority of restaurants and businesses - will remain open.

But the city's annual Labor Day Parade in Manhattan will not be held until Sept. 14 when it marches up Fifth Avenue at 10 a.m.

The holiday marks the official end of summer. City schools will begin the fall semester on Sept. 9.
