Meng Hosts Holiday Event to Write Thank-You Cards for Troops Overseas

Attendees wrote thank-you notes, well wishes and holiday messages to U.S. troops.

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, D-Flushing, recently held open houses during which attendees wrote thank-you holiday cards to U.S. troops serving abroad.

The congresswoman held "Operation Honor Card" events at her Forest Hills and Flushing offices last week. Queens residents dropped by to write thank-you notes, well wishes and holiday greetings to servicemen and servicewomen.

The cards were sent off to troops around the globe this week.

"One of my top priorities is supporting our troops and their families,” Meng said. “We can never thank our brave men and women enough for all the sacrifices they continue to make for our nation and sending them well wishes and messages of thanks during the holidays lets them know that they’re in our thoughts during this special time year.”
