Memorial Day Parade Makes 86th Annual March Through Northeast Queens

The nation's largest Memorial Day parade makes its way down Northern Boulevard.

The 86th annual Little Neck Douglaston Memorial Day Parade marched through northeast Queens along Northern Boulevard on Monday afternoon.

Check out Patch's video of the parade and see if you can spot these participants: Mayor Michael Bloomberg, city Comptroller John Liu, former Comptroller Bill Thompson, city Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, U.S. Reps. Grace Meng and Steve Israel, state Assemblyman Edward Braunstein and City Council members Mark Weprin and Peter Vallone Jr.

The parade, which is considered the largest of its type in the United States, drew thousands of participants and onlookers to Douglaston and Little Neck.

Be sure to drop back by Bayside Douglaston Patch later this afternoon for a photo gallery from the parade.

Happy Memorial Day!
