Fourth of July Events in Queens

To view the city's fireworks show, you'll have to go to Manhattan. But Queens has several local events taking place for Independence Day.

The city’s Fourth of July fireworks show will once again be launched over the Hudson River, so you’re going to have to travel to Manhattan or New Jersey if you want to get a decent view of them.

There are, however, several Independence Day-themed events taking place in Queens this week. Take a look at this list of local events and add any we may have missed to the comment section provided below.

Drop by Citi Field on July 3 to watch a fireworks show that will follow the Mets vs. Diamondbacks game. If you don’t want to pay for a ticket to the game, you can see the fireworks from the parking lot of the Home Depot north of Northern Boulevard.

The Skyline Princess cruise will board at 5:30 p.m. at the World’s Fair Marina in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The cruise will include a dinner buffet, dessert, coffee, tea, a D.J. spinning popular tunes, open bar and a great view of the city’s fireworks show. Click here for more information.

“Wildman” Steve Brill will host a Fourth of July foraging event at Forest Park. Attendees will learn about medicinal and edible wild plants, mushrooms, nature and ecology.

And there will be an Independence Day celebration along Sanford Avenue between Main Street and Union Street at 10 a.m. on July 4 in Queens Village.
