Parks Department to Offer Free Fitness Classes in Queens

Local classes will be held at the Forest Hills Senior Center, Kew Gardens Community Center and Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center.

The city’s Department of Parks and Recreation is offering free fitness classes at three local sites in Forest Hills and nearby communities.

The program – known as Queens Shape-Up – will be offered at the Forest Hills Senior Center, located at 108-25 62nd Dr., on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Kew Gardens Community Center, located at 80-02 Kew Gardens Road, will hold a low impact total body workout at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays.

And the Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center, located at 93-29 Queens Blvd. in Rego Park, will offer fitness classes three days a week.

On Mondays, dance fitness will begin at 6 p.m., while body conditioning will take place at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and a fitness class will be offered at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

All ages are welcome to attend the programs, although the Forest Hills Senior Center class is aimed at senior citizens, and no registration is required.
