Forestdale Raises More Than $7K in Manhattan Charity Walk

Forest Hills family services agency raises money for its youth fitness and health programs.

Forestdale raised more than $7,000 during a five-mile run/walk last week that will go toward the Forest Hills center’s health and fitness programs.

The family services agency, located at 67-35 112th St., brought in a total $7,863 during the Generosity NYC walk in Manhattan’s Riverside Park on Nov. 17.

All of the money raised by Forestdale will go toward its health and fitness programs for Queens youths and their families.

Forestdale’s team was made up of 23 participants, including staff, youth and supporters. Five youths who had never before participated in a 5K race took part in last weekend’s event.

“This was a new and exciting experience for me,” said Jose G., a local youth who attends Forestdale programs. “I’m already looking forward to the 5K next year and thinking about how I can improve my time.”
