Community Corner

Queens Boulevard Winter Wander

On Saturday, December 14th the Transportation Alternatives Queens Activist Committee will host a Winter Wander event along Queens Boulevard! The Zero on Queens Boulevard Campaign is joining up with community members from Astoria all the way to Forest Hills to take a walk, talk and take a stand against the dangerous conditions along the "Boulevard of Death." Concerned neighbors, parents, walkers, bikers, and motorists have been fighting to make Queens Boulevard welcoming for all users, and its now your turn to get involved!

Beginning in Elmhurst, the event will kick-off with a community talk about T.A.'s Zero on Queens Boulevard Campaign, and continue into a group walk towards Forest Hills. Our local safe street advocates will discuss the history of the street, highlighting the challenges faced by pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike.

With over 40 coalition partners and 2,000 signed petitions, our campaign is growing and needs your ideas now more than ever! Come out and learn how you can take action in your nieghborhood to demand major pedestrian improvements, bike infrastructure, and Select Bus Service (SBS) -- promising a safer and more beautiful Queens for all!

Hot chocolate, ciders, and goodies to be in abundance!
