Welcome to the Forest Hills Patch Family Council

Welcome to the Forest Hills Family Council!  A place for parents to connect, exchange ideas and information and pool resources to help us all make the most of our time with our family.

Every week, the Council will introduce a topic of conversation and we encourage parents and community members to actively post and contribute. Everything from local activities to general parenting trends — we hope the dialogue will be a lively forum for expressing thoughts and opinions.

To kick things off, we would like to hear: Why you love raising your family in Forest Hills.  What attracted you to the neighborhood and why you have made this community your home?

"I love raising a family in Forest Hills because you have so many aspects of the city (public transportation, parks, street fairs, etc.), yet it's a place that has a "neighborhood" feel. 

You can walk a few minutes from your door and be immersed in the peace and beauty of "The Gardens" and with a few more steps you can pick up organic food at a local natural foods store.  You can even go a little further and take dance lessons at the local library."    — Beth Goldstein

"Where do I begin!  I love Forest Hills and have lived here practically my whole life.  It's a great place to raise my almost 5-year-old daughter.  I love that when I take my daughter to the playground we know almost everyone there.  All of the mom's get to socialize while the kids play in a clean and safe park (on Austin Street).  With all of the snow that we've been getting we also don't have to go far to enjoy some sledding.
