First Snow Of The Season Arrives, Winter Storm Warning In Effect

It's a little early, but some snow has hit the region.

Forest Hills and the rest of New York City has gotten some serious snow starting earlier this afternoon, for the first time this fall.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement and travel warning in addition to a winter storm warning. The warning will be active until 2 a.m. 

The statement said there will be the possibility of downed tree limbs and wet snow falling throughout the region until 5 p.m.

The National Weather Service also said that non-essential travel is not recommended.

There could also be wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour.

In Queens, the NWS said there could be as much as 10 inches of accumulated snow across the region.
