Oct. 22-24: Sports, Arts, Even A Wrestler Or Two

It's shaping up to be a weekend with athletes of all shapes and sizes in Forest Hills

There will be plenty to do in Forest Hills over the next couple of days, thanks to some sports stars who are just starting out, and some legends of yesteryear who will be making a visit to the borough. Here's five things you should know for your weekend in Forest Hills.

1. The Forest Hills Girls soccer and volleyball teams will both be taking to the field on Friday at 4 p.m. The soccer team will be looking to rebound from a tough loss against Long Island City, while the volleyball team will be trying its best to stay atop the division standings.

2. Speaking of athletes — depending on your definition of the word — former wrestling legend Jerry Lawler will be at Royal Collectibles on Saturday. Fans of wrestling's past should be sure to swing by.

3. Those looking for something a little more relaxing could stop off at the Queens Library for a piano recital by pianist Mina Kusumoto.

4. The relaxation doesn't have to end with a piano recital. The Fresh Meadow Poets will be holding their regular meeting and reading on Saturday, as well. It's a great way to meet some of the local writing talent and spread your wings as a wordsmith.
