As the city makes some big changes, what's happening as the shopping season kicks off?

It's the last weekend before the holiday shopping season officially begins all over the country. While it might be the most wonderful time of the year, it's also the busiest, with events, parties, religious services and other obligations popping up on practically every day on the calendar.
