Local TITLE Boxing Club of Forest Hills Hosts Community Outreach Event to Fight Childhood Obesity

As part of its community outreach initiatives, TITLE Boxing Club is hosting an informational session for students at a Bronx elementary school. The upcoming Fight Childhood Obesity session will take place Thursday, November 21, 2013 at The New School for Leadership and The Arts (120 West 231st Street, Bronx, NY 10463) from 8:30a.m. -10:00a.m. Approximately 90 students will be in attendance to learn the importance of healthy living and adding fitness to their daily routines.

At the session there will be three educational stations for the students:

  1. Draw a favorite healthy food: a TITLE trainer will talk about nutrition, and the children will then be instructed to take their favorite healthy food drawing home and tell their families what healthy foods they want to eat more of.
  2. Warm up station: a TITLE trainer will teach the students how to properly warm up their muscles before starting a work out.
  3. Boxing station: at the end of the session, the children are able to hit a freestanding boxing bag from TITLE Boxing Club to learn about boxing as a work out and the values behind a TITLE workout, taught as fitness not fighting.

“It’s extremely important for trainers at our TITLE Boxing Club to take their knowledge and abilities to educate the local community, especially when we can help the local children,” stated Danny Azzo owner of TITLE Boxing Club of Forest Hills. “Our first event at PS28 Thomas Emanuel Early Childhood Center was so great it allowed us to continue this program with growing interest from multiple schools.”
