Enterprise Holdings Gives Back to the Community in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

New York, New York, January 24, 2014- In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the New York City operations teams of Enterprise Holdings, the corporate parent of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, participated in the City Year Martin Luther King Day Jr. Day of Service in Elmhurst, Queens, and Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York.

“We are honored to give back to the community through our work with City Year on this special day of service in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr.,” said Celestine Crivaro, Regional Corporate Account Manager. “With the economic difficulties affecting local schools, it’s important to remember the children that are in need of proper educational tools. Our participation, made possible through the dedication of our employees, created a wonderful experience and connection with the community. As always, we strive to make a positive difference for communities in which we live and work."

The district teams constructed bookshelves, cubbies and desks for the Elmhurst, Queens, New York school district. They also assembled desks and mural benches for libraries and classrooms. The district teams also painted inspirational murals in community spaces throughout Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. Both district teams combined their efforts to also collect non-perishable items such as water, peanut butter, shelf stable milk, cereal and crackers.
