–First Ever Google Glass Reality Show Receives 50 Million Impressions–

Melville, New York (December 16, 2013) – After winning the “IfIHadGlass” contest on Twitter, first generation Google Glass Explorer and Public Relations/Social Media professional, Hilary JM Topper asked her staff if they would star in the first Google Glass reality show.

At first they were reluctant but after the filming and promotion, Glasslandia, the first Google Glass reality show reaped more than 50 million impressions with more than 10,000+ people tuning in to watch the six episode series.

“We’ve always been on the cutting edge,” says Topper, President and CEO of HJMT Public Relations Inc. and one of the 8,000 chosen to beta test Google Glass as a Google Glass Explorer. “We started a social media division and I wrote a book about it before social media became popular. We are innovative trendsetters and Glasslandia lets us show who we are in a unique, fun and compelling way.”

Glasslandia, aired weekly starting October 16th every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.for six weeks via the YouTube Channel, HJMTPRGlasslandia – a take off of Portlandia, the comedy on IFC, and Islandia, NY a town on Long Island, where the majority of the HJMT Public Relations staff live – invited the public to take a sneak peek into HJMT Public Relations Inc., a leading public relations and social media agency and Topper’s life as a small business owner. All episodes were filmed using Google Glass and traditional video with the incorporation of Google Glass photos and apps. Throughout the series, viewers see Topper running the Long Beach Boardwalk and boxing with her trainer to fumbling at golf and making business deals.

Topper adds, “We have gotten such positive feedback on Glasslandia. Viewers are really interested in getting an unfiltered look into our agency, what my staff are like and how we all interact with each other through the unique perspective that Google Glass allows. 50 million impressions speak for itself.Glasslandia was a successful endeavor and we’re proud of the end result!”

Eight thousand consumers were selected to be Explorers in the Google Glass program.  In order to be chosen, Google asked their community to tweet out what they would do if they had glass via Twitter using the hashtag, #ifihadglass. Topper  was chosen based off her winning tweet, “I want my #GoogleGlass more than my MTV!”
