Magazine declares Metropolitan Ave staple to have best baba ghannouj in the city.

A Forest Hills restaurant has caught the eye of trendy Manhattanites, and for once, it’s not

Wafa’s, Brown’s Metropolitan Avenue neighbor, made the cut in New York’s “Best of” issue for its baba ghannouj.

Wafa’s, which was closed temporarily in 2010, has came back with a vengeance in 2011 and brought its contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with it.

New York Magazine took notice — much like it did — and gave Wafa’s a little loving for its eggplant-based favorite.
