Tuscan Hills Owners to Open Eatery at Former Just Like Mother's Site

Yet-to-be-named restaurant will serve 'European style' breakfast and pizza-by-the-inch.

The owners of Forest Hills’ Tuscan Hills restaurant will open a new eatery serving a “European style” breakfast and pizza-by-the-inch at the former Just Like Mother’s site.

Robert Lamorte and Marco Del Peschio, who own Queens Boulevard’s Tuscan Hills, said they hope to open their yet-to-be-named new restaurant in late February.

“It will have breakfast, lunch and dinner,” Lamorte said. “Breakfast will be more European style. We’ll have espresso, cappuccino, bagels and coffee. It will not be 100 percent Italian. You can have breakfast in the morning or grab a coffee or pastry in the afternoon.”

He said the eatery would also introduce “pizza al metro” to the borough.

“Customers will tell us how many inches they want, we’ll measure it and give you a pizza,” he said. “There’s nowhere else in Queens that’s doing it.”

The shape of the pizza will be a rectangle, rather than a square.

The restaurant will also serve a few chicken dishes or a fish of the day, but the emphasis will not be on main courses as it is at Tuscan Hills.

It will be built at the former Just Like Mother’s site, located at 110-60 Queens Blvd., a Polish eatery that closed late last summer.

Lamorte said he has not yet completed the menu for the new restaurant, which is currently under construction.
