After 66 years of business in Rego Park, Joe Abbracciamento Restaurant and Catering will close its doors in early March, an employee for the eatery said.

Joe Abbracciamento founded the restaurant and catering hall in 1948 on Cross Bay Boulevard before moving it to its current locale at 62-96 Woodhaven Blvd.

Abbracciamento’s sons, John and Joseph, are the restaurant’s current operators. John Abbracciamento also acts as the eatery’s head chef.

An employee for the restaurant said that its owners were “retiring,” rather than closing, and that Abbracciamento’s last day of business would be on March 2.
