Cuisines And Fusions From Around The World Exist Happily On One Menu

Who knew one color had so many flavors?

features sushi, tapas and other edibles inspired by Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Spanish and Indian recipes. And to throw in a few more countries, it’s located off an English Tudor cobblestone square in the former Forest Hills Inn space and has a Moroccan-style lounge. It also has a copper bar, deejay and rotating art gallery.

With executive chef Michael Teng, a native of India of Chinese heritage, anything goes…and everything is delicious.

His signature main dishes begin with Massaman Curry Tilapia ($18), a mélange of Chardonnay, potatoes, roasted peanuts and onions. The Caju Shrimp ($18) comes with roasted cashews in a chili brown sauce. Another option is the Tandoori Salmon ($20), which comes with yoghurt sauce and caramelized onions.

There is also a $55 six-course prix fixe meal that includes salad, cold tapas, sashimi, hot tapas, an entrée and dessert.

The lunch menu features a wide array of wok-prepared dishes. Calcutta Chili Chicken ($7) mixes green chili, cilantro and onion. The Sweet & Sour Flounder ($9) includes pineapple, onion and bell pepper. The Crispy Thai Beef ($9) is filled with bell peppers and citrus sesame sauce. Other items include Bangkok Chicken with sautéed string beans ($7), Sesame Chicken with crispy rice noodles and Mumbai Vegan Patties ($5) with spicy cilantro brown sauce.

Man Chow Soup ($2), egg, snow pea, carrot, mushroom and crispy Cantonese noodles, is an interesting choice. And of course, there are dozens of kinds of Sashimi/Nigiri (three for $8 or five for $12; tuna, crab, fluke, shrimp, snapper, etc.) and Maki/Temaki (two for $8 or three for $12, salmon, striped bass, avocado, spicy yellowtail, etc.).

The Bites Nearby column recommends considering the Asian Tapas menu. Jalapeño Yellowtail Toro costs $12. Popcorn Shrimp with spicy mayo goes for $8. But there’s also the Sushi Pizza ($15), which has crispy rice, spicy salmon and spicy tuna. The Santra Wings ($6) are orange-glazed chicken wings. The Coconut Lemongrass Mussels cost $8 per order.

The beer and wine list is extensive, and saki is always on sale. Specialty drinks include Rum-go-Lassi, mango rum with yoghurt shake and mango puree; Bangkok Moon, blueberry-infused vodka, orange liqueur, yuzu and simple syrup and fresh blueberries; and Kyoto Kiss, espresso-infused vodka, cream de coco, Bailey’s splash of Chambord and shavings of fresh mint and chocolate.
