Austin Street's Boutique for Children to Close at Month's End

Children's clothing store is the latest shop to close on commercial strip.

Forest Hills' Boutique for Children is the latest store to close on the community's Austin Street commercial strip.

The shop, located at 71-21 Austin St., will close at the end of the month and there is currently no replacement planned for the site, the building's landlord said.

The store carries a variety of products for babies, boys and girls, including jackets, jeans, shirts, sweaters, hats, T-shirt, dresses, shoes and bags.

In recent months, a number of local shops and restaurants have closed on Austin Street, including Garcia's Mexican Cafe, Aminence, Laytner's, Perfume Globe, Bus Stop and Austin Jeans.

Patch wants to know: Did you shop at Boutique for Children? Are you sad to see it go? And with all the recent business closures, what types of stores would you like to see fill the vacant spots on Austin Street?
