Movie Listings for a Pre-Valentine Weekend

What's showing on local screens?

We’ve got some romance and some 3D spectacles coming to theaters this weekend, just in time for Valentines Day.

The Vow, starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, is your tear-jerker flick for the weekend. It’s the story of a man who tries to win back his wife’s affection after she loses all memory of him in a car accident.

If you’re looking for something a little less romantic, you could try Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, a pseudo-sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth that really just looks like a vehicle for the Rock to mug at the camera even more than normal.

Also, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phanton Menace is being re-released in 3D, so you can make sure you were right when you hated it the first time. Yes, you DO have to pay more for the extra dimension.

Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington will be bouncing off each other in the action-thriller Safe House, for those of you who want to avoid any hint of romance whatsoever.
