Forest Hills Library to Host Jazz Quartet, Classical Guitarists

The Jacob Teichroew Group will play on Nov. 16, while the Trio Sans Frontieres will perform two days later.

The Forest Hills Library will host a performance of a Brooklyn-based jazz quartet this weekend and as well as an evening of Tibetan folk tunes and American jazz on Monday.

On Nov. 16, the Jacob Teichroew Group will play jazz standards by John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz and original music from Teichroew’s debut CD, “Tableaux.”

The quartet features Teichroew on tenor saxophone, but also a vibraphone, bass player and drummer. The band is known for its improvisational style.

The performance will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The library will hold a concert by Trio Sans Frontieres, a classical guitar group, on Nov. 18 at 6 p.m.

The concert – “World Ethnic Music with No Borders” – will include elements of Klezmer, Tibetan folk melodies and American jazz tunes.

The library is located at 108-19 71st Ave.
