Apparently, there is no code of silence among ex spouses.

While many can relate to wanting to air out their grievances post split, Brand’s admission that he’d “be having sex thinking, 'think of anyone, anyone else,’" seems to cross a line.

Brand goes on to compare the overall institution of marriage to that of being a monk since monks cannot have sex with anyone and married people are allowed only one.

Brand stated “that's one more than a monk. It's not that different."

Definitely comical, the joke is more so telling of his true problems with marriage, in general.

The joke shows that the issues Brand had with his married sex-life may have more to do with the institutional definition of marriage and not so much with Perry.

Monogamy is definitely not for everyone and that’s okay.

Trying it out and finding that it is not the kind of lifestyle that suits you is unfortunate for the other person involved, but making jokes about the ex and projecting such issues with marriage onto that person is just in poor taste.
