Tuesday

Robbery was up this week in the 112th Precinct, according to police statistics. And a Jamaica man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for a brutal beating that led to a man’s death at a Forest Hills nightclub in 2010.

Wednesday

The DOT announced that it would place 39 new bicycle racks along several streets in Forest Hills.

Thursday

State Sen. Tony Avella, D-Bayside, accused Councilman Peter Vallone Jr., D-Astoria, of attempting to push him out of the race for Queens borough president.
