Volunteers Tame Wild Lawns in Forest Hills

Koslowitz, Kidz Care clean up some shrubs.

All politics is local. And for one Forest Hills resident, it starts with the front lawn.

City Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz and Kidz Care came together over the weekend to do some yard work for Marilyn Smith. The Forest Hills resident's yard was overgrown with weeds and untamed bushes.

Kidz Care, a volunteer group with members from ages 6 to 18, brought the rakes, hedge trimmers and lawnmowers to bear, clearing months worth of brush.
